Today's reading has opened my eyes to the ease of slipping into a dependence of self and lack of dependence on God. Obviously, man finds it really easy to lose focus on God's plan when experiencing victories and realizes just how much(or how little), he has in his own power for any duration. God brings us back to our senses by allowing us to face the eminent difficulties of life without Him.
Father, may I find favor with You in times of putting Your love to the test. As demonstrated in the passages, may Your heart always be in touch with my heart's desire to please You. Thank You for mak

Father God,
Today, I am gently reminded of the love that You have just for me. I am eternally thankful for the ways in which You remind me in that You show me Your gentleness and faithfulness. I am eager to offer myself to You as my reasonable service and to further Your Kingdom through leading others to walk the way of the cross. After all of the many paths of destruction I've been rescued from, the least I can do is to show compassion on others who may be faced with some of the same struggles. I am thankful for Your eternal grace. To God be the glory!!

I have decided to do this! I'm really excited, but also a little nervous. I have never read through the entire Bible before, let alone in 90 days! But a friend of mine (who's currently doing it) recommended it so I was like "Why not?" But instead of buying the special Bible in 90 Days Bible, I'm just gonna read from the Messgae (which I currently own).
I'm not a Christian but I am exploring. I'm gonna approach this challenge with an open mind and we'll see what happens. :)

19 This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
It remains my choice to follow the decrees that God has set for my righteousness. In order that I may gain eternal life, Father I cast my eyes on you alone and declare unto you my personal choice to serve you all the days of my life. Thank you for the strength and wisdom to follow you especially in times of trouble. Keep me focused on the things of God in Jesus name. Amen!

i've been reading lots of books. the great divorce, the problem of pain, and a grief observed..all C.S. Lewis books, which have been great - filled with insights and simple yet profound thoughts. the other week in a small group setting, we were asked to share our goals for this summer. as we went around, one of the girls in the group said that she was going to read the bible all the way throuhg. mine was to finish all of the books that i've started. now, the bible is a book that i've started, that i've skipped around to read some of the books here and there, and a book that i've constantly thumbed through for those powerful, key verses and passages.

Deuteronomy 8
Do Not Forget the LORD
1 Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land that the LORD promised on oath to your forefathers. 2 Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. 3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. 4 Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years. 5 Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.

The Lord answered Moses, "Is the Lord's arm too short? You will now see if what I told you will not come true." God has promised His best to each of us who will only trust Him at His word. He intentionally gave to us a platform from which we can launch our blessings...BELIEVE!!
Too many times we get our attentions offset on the distractions of life and lose sight on the divine plan of God for our lives. In the midst of all, we lose heart and begin to operate in the fear of distrust. God can't honor unbelief. Just as He proved Himself to Moses, He waits to prove Himself to each of us. I am always amazed at His appearing at my hour of need.

I've been wanting to read the whole bible for a while. I never knew this program existed until I search google for bible reading plans. I felt so excited. I hope this feeling lasts. Imma start next weekend (to give me a chance to clear my schedule and mentally prepare). I know when school starts in the fall,(college senior feeling like YAY! and OMG so soon at the same time) it's going to be the hardest, but hopefully I can push through s ince I should be almost done. Pray for me.

I am amazed at the things I have never paid attention to before. This is giving me such a history and continuum that I have never had before. I now look forward to my reading each day.
