There were defineately a lot of rules in this reading. I noticed something interesting (again): while there are many sex rules, I didn't read anything about sex before marriage. I think that that rule was added later.
I'd also like to note something else: for 1 sacrifice God asked for bread and wife. Isn't that Jesus's last supper?

Thank you Lord Jesus for redeeming me from the consequences of breaking the law.

I am still amazed while I read through Leviticus how many rules and regulations the Israelites had to live by. I dont know if I could have done it. However, after reading and thinking about it, the rules and regulations make a whole lot of sense. Since there was no atonement for sin back then, there were a ton of rules to help them stay in the right. The whole thing with things needing to be unblemished seemed kind of weird to me at first because God is a God who does not play favorites. But after reading it again and thinking about it, it needed to be unblemished and pure because that was the only thing acceptable to God as a sacrifice, thus is what Christ had to be.

The root meaning of the word sacrifice is “to make sacred.”

When I read today and yesterday's entry it is a good reminder of how blessed we are that Jesus came as a sacrifice for our sins. I could not keep up with all of the different types of offerings and what they were for, I could not keep track of what was clean and what wasn't. I know that I am a sinner saved by Grace, because if I was to depend on my keeping the Law and ordinances where would I be.

*Leviticus 18:18 - "'Do not take your wife's sister as a rival wife and have sexual relations with her while your wife is living.'" - What about Jacob, Leah, and Rachel (Gen. 29:15-30)?
*Leviticus 19:29 - "'Do not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute...'" - What about Lot and his daughters? When the men of the city came to his door to have sex with the angels, and Lot offered them his daugthers instead (Gen. 19)
*Leviticus 21:17-21 - "'Say to Aaron: "For the generations to come none of your descendants who has a defect may come near to offer the food of his God. No man who has any defect may come near: no man who is blind or lame, disfigured or deformed; no man with a crippled foot or hand, or who is hunchbacked or dwarfed, or who has any eye defect, or who has festering or running sores or damaged testicles. No descendant of Aaron the priest who has any defect is to come near to present the offerings made to the LORD by fire. He has a defect; he must not come near to offer the food of his God.'" - I think this is sad. These people can't help what afflictions they were born with. I wonder if it made them feel that they were less of a person because of this.

I have done 10 complete readings in 11 days. Although I have read all 11 days, I am one day behind. Two days I did not complete.
Since starting this incredible journey, I have been attacked. I committed to do something for God and Satan cannot stand it.
It has been a struggle, but I can say I have spent time in God's word each and avery day since commiting to read through it in 90 days.
Satan's attack has been subtle. What can he do to keep me from God's word. How about keeping him from home and family. Double the work load and have him at the office 12 to 14 hours a day. After all, he is salary. It will not cost the company anything.

Benny Hinn has come "down-under" and I think he really spoke into my life about my furture and coming out of my past. I can't wait till I can look at myself in 4 years time and see where I've come from and where I'm going because of this very challenge and my church. I cannot wait to pull up at the gates of day 100 (I'm spending ten days away in a country where bibles cannot be taken into) and look back and see the life I've left behind and am going into for the lord. God Bless!

I doubt if I have ever read the bible in the entire 16 years I have been a born again Christian! I love the picture that is shaping up in my mind as I read through. For instance, todays reading from Levitics 25 on land rules was very intresting to me. The idea of remaining 'open for redemption' and the reason that it is because land belongs to God and we are just tenants .... is an idea I thought Paul wrote about .. I did not expect to finally track it in of all places Leviticus. I am now understanding what David meant when he said he loved the law. I am falling in love with 'paying attention' which is what is happening to me as I read through the books of the Law.

I am moving right along after a week into this thing. God is great and wonderful. I have asked him to give me the strength to get through this. His presence has been with me and I feel him pushing me and telling me that all things are possible through him. I am at home with two small children while my husband is away for the next three months in NFL Europe. Its hard somedays, but I make sure I set aside time to read the bible like I should and stay committed to the 90 day challenge. I want to this and I know that the Lord will bless me and my family because ot this challenge. The word always comes to change a situation and I know that my life will never be the same once I complete this. May the Lord continue to give strength to all who is in this challenge with me.
