"Lest I Forget"

Submitted by Marcus Humphrey on Sun, 07/27/2008 - 22:59.

Many times I have been disillusioned and blinded by the cares of this world. During those times, I find it especially difficult to remain focused on the everlasting goodness and salvation of the God who made heaven and earth. Thank you God for this reminder that encourages me today. "Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail." Isaiah 51:6

"Simple Gratitude"

Submitted by Marcus Humphrey on Thu, 07/24/2008 - 13:58.

Wow! What an awesome thing to be able to declare the everlasting power and love of my heavenly Father. Lord, only You could have determined my path and had knowledge of things to come. Not only so, but You commanded the blessings to pursue me. I am priviledged to know that I am Your child and with my whole heart say, LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago.

Isaiah 25:1

"Enduring Love"

Submitted by Marcus Humphrey on Mon, 07/21/2008 - 09:44.

I am so thankful for Your love Oh Lord. I am amazed at the ever present love You have for me. You demonstrate it so many ways. As David declarees in Psalm 136, "Your love endures forever". Amen!

"When I am Disquieted"

Submitted by Marcus Humphrey on Fri, 07/18/2008 - 12:54.

There are many times when my soul is disquieted due to seemingly prevailing circumstances. These are the times when I am compelled to remember the source of my daily strength. I am thankful for Your voice Lord that calms my situations and comforts my emotions and reminds me of Your eternal love for me. Thank you for making me to know that Your grace is sufficient.
76 May your unfailing love be my comfort,
according to your promise to your servant.

" A Prayerful Heart"

Submitted by Marcus Humphrey on Sun, 07/13/2008 - 12:05.

Thank you loving Father for today. I awakened to find that all of my famiy is yet with me. I have all members of my body functioning as they are designed by you. I commit myself to you for Your service and rest in the knowledge that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I pray as David prayed in Psalm 19:14, "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight. You, Lord are my strength and my redeemer."

"Making the moment Count"

Submitted by Marcus Humphrey on Thu, 07/10/2008 - 14:39.

Whenever God has placed or allowed us in situations, I believe He has done so for specific reasons. As found with Job, there was nothing that satan could do to him that God had not already foreknown. God also knew the heart of His servant Job just as He knows our hearts. I am encouraged to be as faithful as Job in not disappointing God in meeting His expectations for me during times of crisis. I pray that I will make the most of whatever situation one that can be counted for the Kingdom's sake. Prepare me Lord for the moments that lie ahead.

"Be strong and do the work."

I Chronicles 28: 9 "And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. 10 Consider now, for the LORD has chosen you to build a temple as a sanctuary. Be strong and do the work."
In spite of our earthly nature, God who created us, understands all there is within our framework. Therefore, He is able to know our capabilities. I'm encouraged to know that nothing is impossible with Him and that through Him all things are possible to us who believe.

"Obedience in the midst"

Submitted by Marcus Humphrey on Wed, 07/02/2008 - 11:12.

Calamity sure seemed to become the prevailing formidable foe when God's people turned away from the way He had purposed. Time after time, there were attempts by Kings to bring restoration and peace to God's chosen ones by simply being obedient. At times when it seems so easy to succomb to the weight of sin that besets us; that which entangles us even when we are at our best, we need to run this race with patience. Father God, thank you for giving me the strength to look to You as the author and finisher of my faith.

"His Response To Our Response"

Submitted by Marcus Humphrey on Sun, 06/29/2008 - 15:37.

22 Then Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in front of the whole assembly of Israel, spread out his hands toward heaven 23 and said: "O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way. 24 You have kept your promise to your servant David my father; with your mouth you have promised and with your hand you have fulfilled it—as it is today.

I am gently reminded of God's word in II Chronicles 7:14..."If My people who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." As Solomon declared before the assembly of Israel, "there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below...", so should our declaration be continuously.

Our Bloodline

Submitted by Marcus Humphrey on Wed, 06/25/2008 - 20:03.

I Sam 15:15- I Sam 27:4
As demonstrated in this reading, David possessed qualities beyond the norm as a lad. In the 17th chapter, v. 55... "As Saul watched David going out to meet the Philistine, he said to Abner, commander of the army, "Abner, whose son is that young man?"".

Here is an important message to each of us as followers of Christ and that simply is to identify with our bloodline. We are created as His children and are called to be more than conquerors through the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. Whatever the trial, we simply need to lay hold of that which He has already laid hold of for us. As my loving Father, God I thank you for paying an absolute price for my redemption.
