This has been so good to do.
Having this site to mark off where I was on the personal progress tracker was a God-send, as was being part of a reading community on line.
My knowledge of the OT has increased a lot - and I've also got a good idea where I want to focus on in the Bible for the next few months. Revelation was a blur but so were the minor prophets. I'd like to take more time with proverbs too.
Thank you all for making this possible. I'm sure we were bathed in prayer too - and I really appreciated all the encoruagement along the way. 3 months. And I'm so glad you had the 2 days of grace in there. Good one!

It's been such a relief to get into the NT - I read Matthew in one day, and Mark the next :)
I think this must be close to the relief that the early Christians felt -when they realised that Jesus was the Christ , the promised one. Their waiting was over.

I'm finding this hard going ... they all sort of merge together with this pace of reading :(
it will be a relief to hit the NT later this week

seemed to be a long slog.
I'm happy to be in Ezekiel now.
I find it hard to visualise the four living creatures. My brain doesn't work like that I think
"I looked for a man among them who would uild up the wall and stand befoe me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. Ez 22:30
That's a cry for each of our cities. communities. families and nations too.
be blessed

35 days in - actually a bit ahead right now - I'm taking a detour of the books of Tobit, Judith and 1, 2 Maccabes which aren't in the NIV (or other protestant Bibles) but re called the apocrypha or deuterocanonical. I'm doing this becuase they are accepted by the RC and Orthodox church - and as the KJV - first version of the Bible in English was based on the Greek septuigent - it included them too.
I've only read Tobit so far - first time ever. and it's a lovely love story, with a lot of glory given to God. Quite a nice change from all the blood, gore and battles in Kings and Chronicles.

4 weeks into the programme and just finished 2 kings :)
Why anyone would stop at 2 Kings 25:21 is beyond me .. though it is like a soap opera ending
:so judah went into captivity away from her land ....

that 2 kings was easier than 1 kings.
I also noticed that some of the miracles were like a foreshadow of what Jesus would go on to do

finding the building directions complicated and boring
intrigued by Adonijah wanting Abishag as his wife. He did it to claim the throne, and Solomon saw the danger but why didn't his mother. Political intrigue !
