Today's readings includes one of my favorite books of the Bible, Ruth. Being a mother of five sons and only one daughter it is very nice that the Bible uses a daughter-in-law to bless the widow lady with grandchildren. This was such an important part of God's plan for Jesus. Ruth marrying Boaz and having a son Obed that was the father of Jesse who was the father King David. Allowing Jesus to have royal blood and the proper scriptural lineage that had been foretold.

What can I apply to my life, I need the obedience and the patience to follow God's plan, even though it doesn't look in any way like the prayer is being answered. It's always wonderful for us to accept that our plans are not God's plans and his timing is so perfect. I need to be so careful to remind myself daily that God has promised me that my children will walk in His Way but it will be in God's time and not mine even though I wanted to be so bad.
