Suggestions for Success

Below is a list of individual suggestions for success from actual participants of The Bible in 90 Days program.

  • "Make it the most important priority of each day, and cut out other things to make time for reading your daily Scripture.

  • "Try not to get behind because it adds up fast!"

  • "Make time to read every day so if you do get behind, it's not too overwhelming, and try to have one day a week for "catching up" if necessary."

  • "Allow flexibility in the 90 days without guilt."

  • "Encourage small groups."

  • "Have a designated weekly accountability partner."

  • "Set accountability and rewards for accomplishing your reading each step of the way."

  • "The short 90 day window itself was a catalyst. If you're reading through the Bible in a year, you always feel you have time to catch up. When I fell behind a few days in the 90 day challenge, I was much more motivated to catch up quickly."

  • "A larger-print Bible is very helpful and makes it easier to read."

  • "Set time aside every day for the reading. For example, set aside time as morning devotional time."

  • "Read the daily Scripture in segments throughout the day as time allows. For example, on the subway/train/bus to and from work, or listening to the audio Bible while driving."

  • "Read with someone."

  • "Desire to know and love God so much that you want to experience each word for yourself directly from the Bible."

  • "Make a commitment to read the entire Bible."

  • "Balance book club readings with Bible readings. For example, read some of the Bible prior to reading your book club books."

  • "Try to fit the reading into a rigorous and, as much as possible, unchanging daily routine."

  • "Have an accountability group."

  • "Keep reading! I got behind a couple times and found that I got burned out if I tried to catch up in just one sitting. Add two to four more pages per day if you get behind, and catch up gradually."

  • "Remind yourself not to study the Bible, but to read through it. This may help you not get sidetracked. You may still want to take notes along the way so you can go back to those places that you want to readdress or study."
